In this role you will lead the adoption and continuous improvement of financial management practices to maximise measurable business value realised from technology investments. You will also cultivate relationships with technical teams and support them to optimise technology consumption and maximise business value.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
- Implement and evolve financial management and value optimisation practices across technology services at Bupa, with a particular focus on Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AI services and associated infrastructure and platform services.
- Lead a small team to operate Bupa’s financial management and optimisation capability, with an initial cloud on cloud and AI services.
- Proactively engage stakeholders to understand and manage their costs, consumption pattern, investment priorities and efficiency realisation.
- Lead technology optimisation, value management and cost management processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of technology consumption, partnering with designers, engineers and technical managers to implement and track the benefits of these opportunities.
- Optimise commercial pricing and rates. Lead and manage a portfolio of technology financial commitments, utilisation and support contractual processes to optimise value from investments.
You:
- Professional experience in information technology operations.
- Experience in technology or cloud financial management practices, including budgeting, forecasting, spend tracking and evolving cost management capabilities.
- Practical knowledge of cost management capabilities, pricing models, FinOps practices and using cloud consumption analysis to derive actionable insights.
- Experience with Azure / GCP / OCI operations, governance and cloud financial management.
- Experience with cloud optimisation practices (e.g. capacity planning, rightsizing, tagging) or cloud cost optimisation tools (e.g. Cloudability, CloudHealth).
- Understanding of DevOps way of working.
- A strong analytical background, with an attention to detail.
- Track record of building strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience in leading people.
- A desire to be ‘hands on’ with cloud reporting, PowerBI, Excel etc.
