Responsibilities:
- Preparing simple meals and ancillary items for service under the direction of the Chef.
- Washing dishes by hand or loading the dishwasher, storing clean items neatly and safely to minimise breakages.
- Sweeping and mopping kitchen floors to ensure they are free from grease or spillage at all times.
- Washing work tables, walls, kitchen equipment and appliances, adhering to cleaning schedules.
- Operating kitchen equipment and transferring this safely between storage and work areas.
- Ensuring the kitchen is kept tidy and left secure, rubbish is removed, and all supplies are put away in the correct place.
- Adhering to company Food Safety and Health and Safety policies at all times, maintaining all records outlined in the HACCP policy.
Key Skills / Qualifications:
- You possess an understanding of Health and Safety, as well as knowledge of maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment.
- Ideally possessing an up-to-date CIEH Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent) and prior experience in a catering department or kitchen is beneficial.
- Some experience working in a care environment and managing stock, coupled with the ability to prepare simple meals.
- Being organized and adaptable, capable of working effectively within a team and independently.
