About the Role
In our care home, the activity coordinator acts as the chief fun officer, creating a vibrant, joyâfilled environment for residents. They design enjoyable events and hobbiesâincluding arts and crafts, baking, book clubs, and pub quizzesâwhile working closely with residents and care teams to tailor activity plans. Whether itâs gentle chairâbased exercise or a garden party, they bring residents together for laughter, camaraderie, and shared experiences. Activities are also therapeutic, boosting residentsâ spirits and overall wellâbeing.
Responsibilities
- Run morning and afternoon activity sessions.
- Produce and update an activity planner for the home, working within a set activities budget.
- Organise birthday surprises for residents.
- Coordinate with external companies and performers to organise days out and events at the home.
- Arrange oneâtoâone sessions with residents, using reminiscence tools, puzzles, reading or simply a cup of tea and chat.
- Support the homeâs social media channels as required.

You are a creative thinker with plenty of ideas, able to manage budgets and maintain paperwork while prioritising as needed. You want to make a real difference, care for others, share a sense of humour, and bring infectious enthusiasm to improving peopleâs lives.
