The role: due to a period of exciting & continued growth, we are seeking an Assistant Manager- Ceded Reinsurance for this fast growing, dynamic and highly collaborative team, who will be responsible managing a team of professions and technicians and for an extremely broad and technical operational role, responsible for all ceded post-bind activities. They will assume responsibility for an agreed set of processes, for a defined ceded external portfolio and internal cessions written across the various platforms and supporting other portfolios as required-in this fast paced Global role. There is the opportunity for Bermuda business trips, a few times per year.
In this broad and technical leadership role you will ensure compliance with contractual terms, analysing and processing all aspects of ceded reinsurance contracts & collateral agreements, whilst working closely with various internal and external stakeholders & identifying opportunities for ongoing refinement, enhancement of the SOX 404 control environment, process improvement and system enhancement.
You will also participate in and lead Global and special projects and also with your team, be responsible for supporting certain aspects of the financial accounting, internal controls and reporting for the company.
Role requirements:
- A university degree preferred, (emphasis on business, insurance or finance / accounting is advantageous) or comparable reinsurance experience essential.
- Ideally CII, ACII qualified.
- At least 3 years prior relevant experience in a senior reinsurance technician or Assistant Manager capacity.
- Fully proficient, has in-depth knowledge, works independently on moderate to high complex matters.
- Experience with public companies and SOX 404 is advantageous.
- Utilises solid technical competence to achieve exemplary results and to manage and resolve issues.
- Conveys points of view/positions in a way that influences opinions, and demonstrates flexibility in adapting personal style to different individuals.
