The role
We're looking for a writer to join our editorial team and help produce the news, analysis and features that make Bunker Index a go-to resource for industry professionals.
Your focus is the writing. A separate production team handles the CMS entry, image selection, captions and publishing — so you can concentrate on the article itself and on talking to the industry.
What you'll do
- Write news, features and market analysis covering the bunker fuel industry.
- Draft, edit and proofread articles — with support from the editorial team.
- Conduct interviews with industry contacts (operators, traders, suppliers, etc).
- Stay current on fast-moving developments — regulation, market shifts, alternative fuels, port news.
- Collaborate with the rest of the editorial team.
What we're looking for
Essential
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Self-motivated — comfortable managing your own deadlines without supervision.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous writing experience in maritime, shipping, energy or business publications.
- Genuine curiosity about the industry and a willingness to keep learning.
