  • Operate a loading shovel safely and efficiently for shed movements, stockpiles, and loading support.
  • Manage product integrity: ensuring segregation, contamination prevention, and correct stock handling.
  • Be capable of operating and utilizing a 380mt counterweight, hydraulic crane and the 600mt/hr intake system incorporating a moving shuttle conveyor system, both located at the facility.
  • Maintain housekeeping and dust control; keep walkways/routes and work areas safe and tidy.
  • Complete shift paperwork and handover logs accurately and on time.
  • Deliver safety routines: active participation in VCOM, SLAMs, reporting, and interventions.
  • Complete QR pre-use checks; raise defects immediately, isolate unsafe plant, and escalate to supervision/maintenance.

  • Willingness and physical ability to perform manual work alongside machine operation.
  • Basic digital competence (for QR checks/forms) coupled with good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.
  • Good spoken English and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with drivers, customers, and contractors (safety-critical).

Working Hours

Shifts are 8 hours in length plus an hour of unpaid breaks. Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday, 06:00-20:00. When discharging large vessels, the facility operates 24/7, and you will be required to work on a flexible basis during this time, which will include some weekend and night work. Overtime is rewarded at time and a half for weekend work and double time for night work.
