A bit about the role... As an IT Support Technician at Bumper, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient IT operations for our team as we continue to scale. You will act as the primary point of contact for technical support and daily IT operations, troubleshooting and maintaining systems to ensure our employees can deliver their best whilst at work. We are looking for a proactive problem‑solver who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and is committed to high‑quality technical assistance. This is a full‑time hybrid role, based in our Sheffield office at least three days a week, reporting into Head of DevOps and Infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide first and second‑line technical support to all employees, responding promptly to technical queries via a ticketing system, email, or Slack.
- Set up, configure, and maintain laptops (Windows & Mac), mobile devices and software for new hires and existing staff.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to desktops, laptops, networks, and peripheral devices.
- Assist with network configuration, manage user access, and support cybersecurity initiatives to protect sensitive data.
- Support account management across SaaS tools (e.g., Atlassian, Slack, Office 365), including access requests and permissions management.
- Create and maintain IT documentation for troubleshooting, best practices, and internal knowledge sharing.
- Liaise with external vendors for equipment purchases, warranty claims, and repair services.
- Proactively identify and implement solutions to improve system efficiency, security, and user experience as the company scales.
- Respond to and resolve IT incidents in a timely manner, escalating issues as necessary.

What we are looking for in you...
- You are a recent graduate or have a few years of experience as an IT Support Technician (or a similar role) within a startup or scale‑up organisation.
- Some hands‑on experience (internships or work experience) in IT Support or IT Helpdesk role, ideally within the tech environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows and MacOS operating systems.
- Good to have experience or knowledge with Unix/Linux systems and SQL.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in network setup (TCP/IP, VPNs, Wi‑Fi) and hardware/software configurations.
- Experience with SaaS applications (e.g., Atlassian, Office 365) and managing CRM/ERP systems.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on user satisfaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to finding solutions.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience with cybersecurity best practices and tools.
