Bumi Armada UK Limited (BAUK) currently have a permanent staff opportunity for a Production Control Room Operator to join the Armada Kraken FPSO on a 3:4:3:5 rotational pattern. Responsible for the safe and cost-effective operation and maintenance of the production process and utilities with minimal environmental impact.
The successful candidate will have relevant offshore experience and will have the following key responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe and cost-effective operation and maintenance of the production process and utilities with minimal environmental impact.
- Ensure all risks in the production system, utilities operation and maintenance are identified, and comply with procedures.
- Ensure knowledge of safety requirements, including work permit systems, operational and emergency procedures, Company policies and instructions; and ensure that they are understood by all personnel.
- Communicate closely with the HSE Advisor on HSEQ matters.
- Ensure that all information entered in logs, reports, production records and BASSnet is accurate and conforms to the installation’s SMS.
- Provide guidance to all crew members in matters pertaining to safe working practices in compliance with the installation’s Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Operate the DCS-based control panel from the CCR to monitor and optimise subsea and topside processes in line with the well instruction plan (WIP) to meet production targets.
- Actively monitor the Fire and Gas status panel for any active alarms and anomalies ensuring that these are actioned appropriately with any faults reported to the Lead Instrument Technician.
- Control process start-up, shutdown, and troubleshooting, and monitor outside process equipment.
- Make necessary adjustments to process parameters to meet daily production targets as advised by the STL or his designate.
- Assist the Maintenance Department as required with daily planned maintenance and repair work.
- Ensure permit to work certificates for example safety system inhibit certificates for specific jobs are acknowledged and signed before being issued and closed out.
- Gather and compile data for daily production reports and maintain a comprehensive log of all production activities.
- Monitor and maintain chemical injection equipment and monitor dosage rates of process fluids and gas by liaising with the Laboratory Technician and appropriate vendors to ensure these are fully optimised.
- Carry out performance and compliance testing of wells, and diagnosis and optimisation of process systems.
- Accurately compile nightshift reports ensuring items such as well data, metering totals and equipment status actively reflect current plant status.
- Assist in the investigation into plant outages, ensuring any lessons learned are captured to prevent future occurrences.
- Liaise with and instruct area operators to safely ensure plant efficiency and productivity, as advised by the STL or the Production Supervisor.
- Perform any other tasks as reasonably required.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry preferably in the UKCS on FPSOs
- Experience in an Offshore Production Control Room Operator role
- Offshore Control room operator Emergency Response OPITO Approved Training
- BOSIET or FOET including CA-EBS with shoulder width measurement
- A valid OGUK medical certificate
- Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST)
- Competent in the use of IT, with experience of safety management systems and computer-based maintenance management systems.
- Strong personal and interpersonal skills
