Bumi Armada UK Limited (BAUK) currently have a permanent staff opportunity for a Marine Engineer to join the Armada Kraken FPSO on a 3:4:3:5 rotational pattern. The successful candidate will have relevant offshore experience and be responsible for the safe and cost-effective operation and maintenance of the installation's utility systems.
Key responsibilities are:
- Carrying out all utility system maintenance and repairs on the installation with the Utility Team Leader and provide technical guidance on utilities-related equipment.
- Ensuring all risks in the utilities operation and maintenance are identified, and comply with procedures.
- Ensuring knowledge of safety requirements, including work permit systems, operational and emergency procedures, Company policies and instructions.
- Communicating closely with the HSE Advisor on HSEQ matters.
- Ensuring knowledge of the installation’s plant and machinery, and its safe operation and maintenance.
- Implementing planned and corrective maintenance on all power generation, engine room, and boiler equipment offshore, to ensure that maximum compliance and production targets can be achieved.
- Reporting deficiencies and malfunctions to the Utility Team Leader, discussing and analysing technical and spares issues with the Materials Coordinator and proposing solutions related to eventual bottlenecks, deficiencies, and non-conformities.
- Maintaining an accurate history in the CMMS System of work undertaken.
- Providing utility systems technical support to operations such as engine room, pump room, main power generator, engine room boiler, deck boiler and other relevant utilities.
- Operating engine room and pump room equipment for example, diesel generators, boilers, steam cargo oil pump, steam ballast pump, refrigeration plant, freshwater generators and associated equipment, fuel oil centrifuges, sea water systems and air compressors.
- Assisting Maintenance Department with general maintenance tasks as required.
- Supporting contractor activities ensuring all work carried out meets statutory requirements and complies with the installation’s safety management systems.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Marine Engineer Class 2 (Steam & Motor) Certificate or other equivalent education.
- Marine Engineering Trade apprenticeship e.g., Fitter & Turner, Diesel Mechanic etc.
- Strong experience in the offshore oil & gas environment, preferably on an FPSO, with experience in a Marine Engineer position.
- At least one year's experience in operating and maintaining Wartsila 50DF engines.
- Knowledge and experience related to FSO/Tanker/LNG Carrier operations and maintenance.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of process equipment.
- Experience with Permit to Work systems.
- Competent in the use of IT, with experience of safety management systems and computer-based maintenance management systems.
- Strong personal and interpersonal skills.
- BOSIET or FOET including CA-EBS with shoulder width measurement.
- OGUK medical.
- MIST.
