About the role

As a Teacher of Art & Design Technology, you will empower learners in KS3 & KS4 to develop creative and collaborative skills in a supportive environment. You will play a key role in developing curriculum aiming for the Arts Mark or Design & Technology mark, lead extracurricular activities, and contribute to the design faculty’s values and ethos.

Responsibilities

  • Teach KS3/KS4 Art and Design Technology and, at KS3, Food.
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons that foster design and making skills.
  • Create a supportive, stimulating learning environment.
  • Lead extracurricular activities and support the department’s ethos.
  • Lead curriculum development initiatives, targeting the Arts Mark or Design & Technology mark.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department’s vision and student outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a relevant field.
  • Ability to teach across a range of KS3 subjects.
  • Evidence of continually improving teaching and learning through schemes of work and medium‑term plans.
  • Experience in vocational or GCSE‑related teaching or the creative sector industry.
  • Enthusiasm, knowledge, and flexibility to deliver lessons in KS3 subjects such as Textiles, Resistant Materials, Food, or Graphics.
