Position Overview
Cover Supervisor – Bulwell Academy, Nottingham.
Salary: £22,354 – £26,683 per annum.
Contract Type: Permanent, 37 hours a week, 39 weeks a year (term‑time). Start date: September 2026. Application closing date: Wednesday 17 June 2026.
Responsibilities
- Lead whole‑class learning in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring continuity of learning and a purposeful classroom environment.
- Support students to remain engaged, focused, and motivated.
- Foster a positive and productive learning environment where all students feel supported.
- Be a confident, reflective practitioner with strong behaviour‑management skills.
- Set high expectations and act as a positive role model, consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviours expected of students.
- Build effective relationships with students and staff to support learning across a range of subjects.
Qualifications
- Hold a minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (A‑C / 4+).
- Have experience of working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be willing to engage in relevant training and continuous professional development (CPD).
