Description and tasks
Role Purpose: Reporting to the Warehouse Manager through the Warehouse Team Leader, the Nightshift Senior Warehouse Operative leads the coordination of the nightshift team while working hands-on as a Warehouse Operative, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with pre-set schedules.
Main duties/responsibilities:
- Manage emergency calls from the customer ensuring all shipments are made as required.
- Be the key contact and point of escalation for all concerns on the nightshift.
- Ensure all warehouse activities are carried out on the night shift as per handover requirements.
- Lead in collaboration with the Warehouse Team leader and HR, all sickness/absence/staffing issues.
- Communicate business performance/targets to Nightshift team.
- Coordinate and manage a clear and effective shift handover to maintain operational continuity.
- Provide reporting information to day shift Team leader & Warehouse Manager, as required.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with warehouse night shift staff.
- Conduct Annual Development Dialogues (ADD) with warehouse night shift staff and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
- As required, provide specialist training to colleagues and agency workers to ensure required competency levels are achieved within required timescales.
- Ensure all inventory is correctly located and maintained within the appropriate warehouse locations.
- Ensure all prepared shipments are picked/moved to dock using the MDC (Mobile data capture) in a safe and timely manner.
- Ensure daily checks are carried out on MHE (MACHINE HANDLING EQUIPMENT) and warehouse racking to ensure the safety of both staff and equipment.
- Ensure the safe and correct use of all MHE in accordance with warehouse work instructions.
- Prioritise packing orders in order to achieve shipping deadlines.
- Ensure all accidents, near misses or areas of concern are reported to the Health and Safety, Facilities Supervisor, Warehouse Team Leader & Manager in a timely manner.
- Ensure warehouse operations are conducted in a safe, clean, and organised manner, addressing any issues as required.
- Support the business with deliveries of stock/parts to customers/suppliers in the Company vehicle, as required.
- As required, undertake in external First Aid training on behalf of Bulten Ltd to support the Company in line with the H&S strategy.
- As required, undertake in external Fire Marshal training on behalf of Bulten Ltd to support the Company in line with the H&S strategy.
- Knowledge of and adherence to Work Instructions relevant to the roles.
- Knowledge of and adherence to ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IATF 16949.
- Knowledge of and adherence to Bulten Group & Bulten Ltd Health and Safety Policy and procedures.
- Knowledge of and adherence to Bulten Ltd Environmental Policy.
- Assist as required with any other reasonable request in line with business needs or customer/client requirements.

Candidate Profile
Experience and knowledge required for the role:
- Essential: Warehousing experience.
- Desirable: FLT Reach/Counter balance licence, Automotive parts experience, Customer/Client focused, Use of PPT (Power Pallet Truck).
Our Offer:
This is a full time, permanent opportunity to work in our Warehouse in Scunthorpe on our Night Shift. Working hours are Monday - Thursday 21:00 - 07:00, 38hrs per week with 1 paid and 1 unpaid 30 minute break per shift. 26.5 days Holiday allowance which is inclusive of bank holidays. Salary is £38,500 per annum, 8% non contributory pension scheme from day 1, Life assurance policy of 4 x annual salary from day 1, Access to Westfield Health Mosaic Cash Plan from beginning of new month after starting.
