A Road Freight Operator is responsible for managing and coordinating the efficient transportation of goods via roadways. This role ensures that shipments are planned, executed, and delivered on time while maintaining high standards of safety, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shipment Coordination: Plan, schedule, and manage road freight shipments. Allocate vehicles and drivers based on shipment requirements.
  • Route Optimization: Identify and plan the most efficient delivery routes. Monitor traffic, weather, and other factors affecting transit times.
  • Customer Communication: Serve as the primary contact for clients regarding shipment updates and inquiries. Provide regular status updates and resolve delivery issues promptly.
  • Fleet Management Support: Coordinate with the fleet management team for vehicle maintenance and availability. Track and monitor vehicle locations using GPS systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Address delivery disruptions, delays, or issues with cargo. Implement solutions to minimize impact on clients and operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in logistics or supply chain is a plus).
