Location: Birmingham, Office Based

Contract: Full time, permanent contract, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: up to £27,000 depending on experience

Bonus: up to 30%

Role Overview

We're looking for a Finance Administrator to join our growing Finance & Commercial team and support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring financial processes run efficiently and accurately, supporting allocation of payments, supplier payment processing, customer account administration, bookkeeping and wider finance activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly organised, enjoys working with data and numbers, and is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day administration of finance operations
  • Process invoices for payment and obtain relevant approvals
  • Manage and respond to queries received through shared finance inboxes
  • Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Allocate payments for customer orders
  • Assist with general ledger postings
  • Assist with the administration of customer orders and accounts
  • Liaise with banking partners and external stakeholders where required
  • Produce accurate records and maintain finance documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end schedules and reports

Skills & Experience

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and to deadlines
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Previous experience within a finance, accounts or administration role
  • Experience using accounting software such as Sage 50 or Xero
  • Experience working with financial data and reconciliations
  • Experience within a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Experience working within retail banking, financial services or the precious metals industry (desirable)
