The Management/Project Accountant role at Bulletproof, part of the Cyber Division within Axiom GRC, offers a unique opportunity to join a newly formed finance team at a critical point. The role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis. Recently acquired by GRC, Bulletproof is on an accelerated growth path, and this role is central to shaping the financial processes and reporting standards that will support that journey.
Reporting directly to the Cyber Divisional Finance Director, the Management Accountant will play an integral role in providing financial insights, budget analysis, and management reporting to support strategic decision-making across the Cyber Division. As part of a newly formed finance team, the Management Accountant will work closely with teams across Bulletproof and its sister companies, Pentest People and IMSM, two other recent Axiom GRC acquisitions within the Cyber Division. Collaboration and cross-functional engagement will be essential in this role, ensuring that finance functions are aligned to support both companies' objectives and that a unified financial strategy is developed.
This is a hands-on, impactful role where the successful candidate will be key to driving efficiencies, managing reporting processes, and supporting the finance director in the Cyber Division's financial planning and analysis activities. The Cyber Division is about to commence a significant program of system change including the implementation of new ERP and FP&A tools driving the need for additional resource. This role will be focused on migration activities and therefore critical to achieving our implementation goals.
Key Responsibilities- Systems Implementations
- Preparation of financial information required for new ERP and FP&A implementation
- Assist the Cyber FD with systems configuration and data migration tasks
- Develop and document workflows to support the migration – both ‘as is’ and ‘to be’
- Assist with testing and migration of hive up data
- Act as a key point of contact between Cyber finance team and external ERP / FP&A team
- General Ledger
- Assist the team to ensure that day-to-day maintenance of the General Ledger is carried out to established timetables and to enable management and financial reporting deadlines to be hit
- Reviewing and performing bank reconciliation process in Xero
- Help to reconcile other balance sheet control accounts monthly, quarterly or annually as appropriate. Major areas include sales ledger control, purchase ledger control, accrued and deferred trading income/costs, inter-company accounts and tax/salary control
- Processing, reconciling and controlling fixed asset ledger and associated entries
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- To help prepare and maintain budgets, including preparation of high quality analysis and meaningful comparisons to budget, to support the Finance Director as required to established timetables
- Assist the development of a monthly rolling forecast with variance analysis to budget to provide insight to stakeholders
- Group Reporting
- As part of a team prepare (and review where relevant) of all reporting issued to the business, ensuring that the reporting of results meets stakeholder needs
- Regular analysis of group overheads on a monthly basis and support the Finance Director with controlling budgets and understanding trends
- Undertaking business partnering-like activity through extending and developing reporting and KPIs for business activity through working with the Finance Director to understand requirements
- Payroll
- Help to prepare and review the monthly payroll reports before and after processing by the external payroll provider
- Process & Controls
- Developing and maintaining consistent accounting processes and controls, whilst continually looking for efficiencies and improvements
- Formal Qualifications
- Degree educated
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or finalist with significant experience
- Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within companies undergoing growth or transformation
- Experience working in a group structure with predefined monthly reporting
- ERP migration experience (essential)
