About the Role
Bullet Express is looking for a Junior De-Brief Clerk to join our Operations Team at our Bothwell site. This is an entry-level position designed for someone looking to start a career within transport and logistics. Previous transport experience is not required, as full on-the-job training will be provided. The role will support our busy transport operation, with a particular focus on driver de-briefing, Proof of Delivery (POD) processing, customer queries and general operational administration.
We are looking for someone who is confident, organised and comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced office environment. You must have previous experience using computers, and experience with Microsoft Office is desirable.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Manager, Operations Team and Drivers, receiving ongoing training and support while developing their knowledge of our transport operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Driver De-Briefing
- De-brief drivers throughout the day as they return to the depot.
- Check that drivers have returned all required paperwork and documentation.
- Identify any missing or incomplete information during the de-brief process.
- Ensure any delivery or collection issues reported by drivers are passed to the Operations Team.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with drivers.
- Assist with maintaining accurate driver and delivery records.
- POD & Document Processing
- Scan and upload Proof of Deliveries (PODs) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Process and upload any other relevant transport documentation.
- Check documentation for missing or incorrect information.
- Deal with customer requests for copies of PODs.
- Assist with finding and providing documentation when requested by customers or the Operations Team.
- Ensure documents are stored and processed correctly using company systems.
- Maintain accurate and organised electronic records.
- Customer & Telephone Support
- Answer incoming telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate person where required.
- Assist customers with general delivery and POD queries.
- Provide customers with clear and professional information.
- Pass more complex customer or operational issues to the appropriate member of the Operations Team.
- Maintain a helpful and professional approach when speaking with customers and drivers.
- Operations Support
- Assist the Operations Team with general daily administrative tasks.
- Update information on internal systems when required.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and wider Operations Team.
- Assist during busy periods to ensure the transport office continues to run smoothly.
- Follow company processes and procedures.
- Take on additional operational administration tasks as your knowledge and experience develop.
Learning & Development
This is a junior role where we are looking for the right person to train and develop within the business. Full training will be provided on our transport processes, internal systems, driver de-briefing and POD procedures. As your knowledge and confidence develop, you will be encouraged to take on more responsibility and build a wider understanding of the transport operation. You will be supported by the Operations Manager and experienced members of the Operations Team throughout your training.

This role could suit someone with previous experience in administration, customer service, retail, hospitality or another busy office or customer-facing environment, as well as someone looking for their first opportunity within the transport and logistics industry.

- Accurate completion of driver de-briefs.

Salary
Salary will be dependent on age and previous experience and will be discussed at interview. As this is an entry-level development role, the starting salary will reflect the successful candidate's experience, with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge through on-the-job training.
