Everything we achieve at Bulk is powered by our teammates. We’re looking for an experienced and commercially-minded People Manager to act as a trusted partner to our UK leaders and a driving force behind a high-performing, well-supported workforce. This is a true generalist role with significant ownership across people operations, employee relations, performance and learning and development. Reporting to the Head of People, you will work closely with the wider business to translate priorities and change initiatives into practical, effective People plans that enable teams to perform at their best.
Working in a fast-paced, ambitious environment, you’ll bring a pragmatic, consistent and legally sound approach to complex people challenges, while building strong relationships across all levels. This is an opportunity to shape how People support is experienced at Bulk and play a key role in taking Team Bulk to the next level.
What will you be doing?

- Own the application of ER policies and standards across the UK team, ensuring consistent, pragmatic and legally sound approaches are taken.
- Own the coordination and delivery of learning and development activity across the business, supporting strong manager capability through practical tools, guidance and targeted training initiatives.
- Own the delivery of the performance management cycle, ensuring processes are consistently applied, managers are equipped to have effective performance conversations and outcomes are accurately recorded and actioned.
- Line manage and develop the UK People team, setting clear expectations for service delivery, operational standards and continuous improvement.
- Translate business priorities and change initiatives into practical People plans, supporting leaders through change with clarity and confidence.
- Lead People projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance how the People function operates and how managers experience People support.
- Oversee the integrity and insight of People data and metrics, using these to inform decisions, identify trends and improve People practices.
- Ensure all People policies, procedures and systems are compliant, effective and support the needs of a scaling business.
- Work collaboratively across locations to ensure consistency of People practices and a positive teammate experience across the business.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in a generalist People role within a fast-paced, multi-site environment, with strong Employee Relations expertise and confidence supporting managers through complex people matters.
- Skilled in delivering core People processes including onboarding, performance management, absence management, policy application, organisational change, restructures and business transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law, HR best practice and HR systems/processes, including HRIS platforms, people data, reporting and process optimisation (Hibob experience is a plus).
- Experience leading or supporting teams, contributing to learning and development initiatives and helping to create engaging, people-first workplace experiences.
- Excellent communication to stakeholders and management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the business.
- Commercially minded, with an understanding of how people strategies and decisions contribute to overall business performance and growth.
- Proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused, with the ability to work independently, take ownership and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Calm, organised and detail-oriented, with a thoughtful approach to handling sensitive situations, compliance and people data.
- Passionate about creating positive employee experiences, fostering inclusive cultures and continuously improving the way people processes and support are delivered.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience within FMCG, retail, hospitality or other operational multi-site environments is beneficial, particularly within scaling or high-growth businesses.
