We are seeking an experienced Project Lead to join a major hyperscale data centre development in Berlin. This is a client-side leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of project legislation, design management, construction delivery, and stakeholder coordination across a large-scale mission-critical facility. The successful candidate will take ownership of the project lifecycle from pre-construction through commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, compliantly, on programme, and to the highest operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of a hyperscale data centre project from design through to completion
- Oversee all project compliance with German regulations, European legislation, and client standards
- Manage multidisciplinary teams including CSA, MEP, commissioning, controls, and specialist consultants
- Act as the primary client-side representative across all project phases
- Coordinate design development, technical reviews, procurement, and construction activities
- Monitor programme, budget, quality, and project risk throughout delivery
- Ensure effective communication between contractors, consultants, vendors, and key stakeholders
- Drive health & safety excellence and quality assurance across the project
- Support commissioning, operational readiness, and final handover activities
- Ensure all systems and infrastructure are delivered in line with mission-critical performance requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering large-scale data centre, mission-critical, or major infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of German construction legislation and European compliance standards
- Experience managing complex projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover
- Client-side or principal contractor experience preferred
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Strong commercial and programme management capabilities
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Services, or related discipline
- Fluent English required; German advantageous
