We are currently recruiting for an experienced MEP Project Lead to join a flagship hyperscale data centre development in Berlin. This is a client-side leadership role responsible for overseeing all Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) aspects of the project, ensuring successful delivery from design through commissioning and final handover. The successful candidate will take ownership of legislation compliance, technical coordination, construction delivery, and stakeholder management across a large-scale mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all MEP activities across the full project lifecycle from design through delivery and commissioning
- Oversee compliance with all relevant German regulations, European legislation, and project standards
- Manage MEP consultants, contractors, specialist subcontractors, and vendors
- Act as the primary client-side representative for all MEP-related matters
- Coordinate design reviews, technical submissions, procurement, and construction activities
- Drive programme, budget, quality, and risk management across all MEP packages
- Ensure effective coordination between CSA, commissioning, controls, and operations teams
- Monitor installation quality, progress, and construction milestones
- Support commissioning strategy, integrated systems testing, and operational readiness
- Promote the highest standards of health & safety and quality assurance across the project
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering MEP packages on hyperscale data centre or mission-critical projects
- Strong understanding of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems
- Experience managing projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover
- Knowledge of German construction legislation and European compliance standards
- Previous client-side or principal contractor experience preferred
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and technical coordination skills
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline
- Fluent English required; German advantageous
