We are currently seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a flagship hyperscale data centre development in Berlin. This is a client-side leadership role responsible for overseeing the commissioning strategy, compliance, coordination, and delivery of all mission-critical systems across the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will lead commissioning activities from design review through integrated systems testing, energisation, and final handover, ensuring all systems are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with operational performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full commissioning process across a large-scale data centre project
  • Oversee commissioning strategy, planning, sequencing, and execution from pre-construction through handover
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant German legislation, European standards, and project requirements
  • Coordinate commissioning activities across electrical, mechanical, controls, and CSA systems
  • Manage commissioning agents, consultants, contractors, and specialist vendors
  • Act as the primary client-side representative for all commissioning-related matters
  • Review technical documentation, commissioning procedures, test scripts, and method statements
  • Lead FAT, SAT, IST, and integrated systems testing activities
  • Monitor programme, quality, risk, and operational readiness throughout delivery
  • Ensure all systems achieve required reliability, redundancy, and performance standards
  • Drive health & safety excellence and quality assurance across all commissioning activities

Requirements

  • Proven experience commissioning hyperscale data centres or mission-critical facilities
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, controls integration, and critical infrastructure testing
  • Experience managing commissioning from design through final operational handover
  • Knowledge of German and European compliance standards and legislation
  • Previous client-side or principal contractor commissioning experience preferred
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline
  • Fluent English required; German advantageous
