Buitelaar Group Overview: With five generations of experience behind us, we pride ourselves on being experts in beef production and rearing cattle to the highest standards. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a General Farm Worker to join the team at Our Development Farm. We are currently expanding exceptional facilities at Long Lane and require an enthusiastic individual to help us achieve the farm’s potential.
The role of Development Farm GFW involves adapting between daily routines whilst maintaining the highest standards. Daily routines include:
- Milk feeding
- Bedding
- Feeding concentrates
- Health checking
Previous livestock and farm machinery experience is essential for the role, training will of course be provided. Long Lane Development Farm is fast becoming a top industry recognised research facility collaborating with feed and pharmaceutical industry leaders to trial products in a commercial environment, making for a varied and interesting working environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Milk feeding
- Health checking
- Operating a telehandler to feed/dispense bedding
- Vaccinating
- Weighing cattle
- Assisting the vet on routine visits
