Can you win new business, build relationships with decision-makers and turn customer needs into commercially successful solutions?
We're partnering with Widgit, a purpose-driven software company and Certified B Corp, to recruit a Business Development Manager. Widgit helps people understand information and communicate through symbols, making education, services and everyday environments more accessible.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you'll drive new business across three key areas:
- Multi-Entity Accounts: win group-wide agreements with Multi-Academy Trusts, local authorities and other multi-site education organisations.
- Symbol Friendly Organisations: build relationships with businesses and public services looking to improve accessibility through symbol-supported communication, including leisure centres, gyms, zoos and other visitor attractions.
- Signage and projects: develop opportunities for accessible door signs, communication boards, playground signage and other practical communication materials.
What you'll do
- Generate opportunities through targeted outreach, networking, events and collaboration with Marketing.
- Own the sales cycle from discovery and demonstrations through proposals, negotiation and close.
- Build relationships with budget holders and stakeholders across complex organisations.
- Work with education and product specialists to develop appropriate customer solutions.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast, then coordinate a smooth handover to account management and customer success.
What we're looking for
- A track record of winning new B2B business through consultative selling.
- Experience selling to education, public sector or large multi-site organisations.
- A background in EdTech, SaaS, education services, accessibility or a relevant adjacent market.
- Confidence managing multiple decision-makers and taking opportunities through to signed agreement.
- Strong commercial judgement, CRM discipline and an interest in accessibility and inclusio.
- Experience with MATs, SEND, signage or project-based solutions would be valuable.
The package
- £45,000 base salary plus up to £15,000 commission.
- Some flexibility in the base/variable split, within a £60,000 total package.
- Hybrid working, with every Thursday and one additional day each week in Warwick.
