Please note: the post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Northern Education Trust (NET) is a charitable education Trust with a good track record for school improvement. The Trust sponsors 30 academies; 17 secondary and 13 primaries across the North of England in fourteen Local Authority regions. Buile Hill's academic performance has seen a remarkable turnaround in just one academic year, with exam outcomes trebling and now above the national averages. The 2025 performance tables show that Buile Hill was outperformed only by two selective schools in Salford in terms of the percentage of students who pass English and Maths at a Grade 5 or higher, placing it third overall on key attainment measures and the highest-performing non-selective school in the borough. The school is on track to be named Salford’s most improved school reflecting the hard work of staff and students, and the transformative impact of support from NET, a nationally recognised multi-academy trust with a strong record of driving rapid improvement in schools.

We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher of English to join our team. The successful candidate must:

  • Set high standards which inspire, motivate and challenge students
  • Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
  • Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils
  • Make accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
