An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team on a high-profile commercial office fit-out project. This role is ideal for someone with 1-3 years post-graduate experience who is looking to develop within a fast-paced, high-spec fit-out environment, gaining hands-on exposure across the full commercial lifecycle of projects. You will be working closely with and reporting directly to a Project Quantity Surveyor, gaining real responsibility from day one across procurement, cost management, and subcontractor packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Project QS in the day-to-day commercial management of the project
- Assisting with procurement of subcontract packages, including issuing enquiries, analysing returns, and preparing comparisons
- Contributing to the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and take-offs
- Assisting with subcontractor negotiations and appointments
- Supporting the management of variations, change control, and valuations
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly cost reports and forecasts
- Reviewing and processing subcontractor applications and payments
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation
- Liaising with internal teams, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure commercial objectives are met
- Supporting the agreement of final accounts
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- 1-3 years post-graduate experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Experience within construction, interiors, or fit-out projects is advantageous
- Strong understanding of commercial processes and contract administration
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
- Proactive, driven, and eager to learn and develop
