We are seeking an experienced and proactive Construction Site Manager to join a major commercial development in Maidenhead on a long-term freelance basis through to the end of 2027. The project is a landmark multi-storey commercial scheme delivering approximately 79,000 sq ft of premium Grade A office accommodation alongside ground-floor retail and high-quality public realm works. Designed with sustainability at its core, the development incorporates an advanced mass timber structural system and is targeting industry-leading environmental certifications including BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Platinum standards. This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically complex, high-profile town centre development adjacent to major transport infrastructure, requiring strong leadership, programme management and coordination skills throughout all construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day site operations ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme
  • Coordinate subcontractors, site logistics and sequencing of works
  • Drive quality standards across all packages and ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Oversee health & safety procedures and maintain a positive site culture
  • Monitor progress against programme and report on site activities
  • Liaise with project managers, consultants, design teams and stakeholders
  • Manage inspections, site records and reporting requirements
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with environmental and sustainability objectives

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on large-scale commercial, data centre or industrial shed developments
  • Strong understanding of structural, fit out and external works packages
  • Experience managing projects within constrained urban environments
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certifications essential
  • Stable freelance background delivering projects through full construction lifecycle

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working on sustainable or low-carbon developments
  • Exposure to mass timber or complex structural systems
  • Experience on high-value commercial office developments
