The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator (Electrical) to join a growing pre-construction team based in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will be responsible for pricing electrical packages across a range of commercial projects, working closely with operations, commercial, and project delivery teams to produce accurate and competitive tenders. This role would suit someone with a strong electrical background who understands both technical delivery and commercial pricing within construction or building services environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed electrical estimates and cost plans from drawings, specifications, and tender documents
  • Review project documentation and identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
  • Produce accurate take-offs and pricing for labour, materials, subcontractors, and equipment
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
  • Support bid submissions and tender presentations
  • Work closely with project managers and commercial teams during handover stages
  • Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings where required
  • Maintain strong knowledge of current market rates and industry trends

Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within construction or building services
  • Strong understanding of electrical installations and M&E systems
  • Experience pricing commercial fit-out, FM, refurbishment, or construction projects
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable

  • Experience within multi-disciplinary contractors or M&E contractors
  • Electrical qualifications or trade background
  • Experience using estimating software
  • Knowledge of both small works and larger project tenders
