We are looking for an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our growing team, delivering major construction projects across Central London and the M25 corridor.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading the delivery of high-value projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You will bring extensive experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Main Contractor and have a strong background delivering complex industrial, logistics, commercial, mixed-use, data centre and urban regeneration developments.
Working collaboratively with project teams, consultants, clients and subcontractors, you will provide strong operational leadership, drive programme performance and ensure the successful delivery of multiple projects while maintaining the highest standards of health & safety, quality and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of high-value construction projects across Central London and the M25 corridor.
- Lead projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring programme, quality and commercial objectives are achieved.
- Provide leadership, direction and support to project delivery teams, ensuring effective collaboration across all disciplines.
- Develop, monitor and manage detailed construction programmes, identifying risks and implementing recovery plans where required.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company SHEQ procedures, statutory regulations and industry best practice.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and consultants to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.
- Manage project logistics, construction sequencing and site operations, particularly within constrained urban environments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders, ensuring exceptional levels of customer satisfaction.
- Monitor project progress and performance, producing regular reports for senior management.
- Identify and proactively manage project risks, resolving issues efficiently to minimise programme and commercial impact.
- Ensure all quality standards are achieved and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with Commercial and Design teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Chair project progress meetings and drive accountability across the project team.
- Mentor and develop Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers and Engineers to support succession planning and continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across all projects.
- Extensive experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Main Contractor.
- Proven track record delivering construction projects valued between £20m - £100m+.
- Demonstrable experience delivering industrial, logistics, commercial, mixed-use, data centre and urban regeneration developments from inception through to completion.
- Experience working on projects across Central London and the M25 corridor, including complex city centre and constrained sites.
- Strong experience managing multiple project teams and overseeing large-scale construction operations.
- Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and buildability.
- Sound knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience monitoring project budgets, programme performance and risk.
- Excellent client-facing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and successfully deliver complex construction projects.
- Essential: Degree, HNC or HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- SMSTS.
- CSCS Black Card.
- First Aid at Work.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Desirable: MCIOB or working towards Chartered status.
- Temporary Works Coordinator.
- Appointed Person.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
