We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Clerk of Works as a result of huge workload, and are looking for experienced Clerks of Works to join their team.
About The Client:
Join a highly respected, multi-disciplinary Building & Construction Consultancy with a strong reputation for technical excellence across Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Clerk of Works services in London & the South of England. We deliver quality, compliant, safe and high-performance residential and commercial projects by blending professional integrity with real-world construction experience.
The Role:
Clerk of Works (M3): You will split your time across two live sites each week (3 days/2 days), focusing initially on high-quality residential and mixed-use developments within the M3 corridor. Travel is a key part of this role (fully reimbursed).
Core duties:
- Conduct regular site inspections, ensuring contractor compliance with contract drawings, specifications, Building Regulations, and warranty standards.
- Produce concise, insightful reports using tablet-based reporting tools after each visit.
- Perform comprehensive snagging inspections pre-Practical Completion and issue defect schedules.
- Act as the client's eyes on site, safeguarding quality and compliance throughout construction.
Who We're Looking For:
- 5+ years construction / technical experience (Clerk of Works, Quality Inspector, or similar).
- Strong understanding of construction methodology and contract compliance.
- Ability to interpret Building Regulations (including Part B/Approving Document B) and BS9999 standards.
- Membership of ICWCI or equivalent is advantageous.
- A proactive communicator with excellent attention to detail.
