We are recruiting an Engineer to play a key role on a £35 million state-of-the-art storage and logistics facility in Hatfield. This is not a standard shed build; the project includes cold room storage, clean rooms, and specialist laboratory environments, offering real technical challenge and variety. You will be joining a well-established main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex industrial projects and investing in their people.
The Project
This flagship development forms part of a wider strategic expansion programme and demands high-quality engineering, precision setting out, and robust QA control from start to finish.
Your Role
- Full responsibility for on-site engineering and setting out
- Managing and coordinating technical drawings, specs, and design information
- Driving quality through ITPs, QA checks, and accurate site records
- Overseeing temporary works, permits, and compliance
- Working closely with site management, subcontractors, and consultants
- Identifying and resolving technical challenges quickly and effectively
- Championing health, safety, and environmental best practice
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Project Engineer in construction
- Strong background in groundworks, concrete, drainage, steel frames, and externals
- Confident working from detailed drawings and specifications
- Experience on industrial, logistics, or technically complex builds is highly desirable
- A proactive, quality-driven mindset
Qualifications
- Degree / HNC / HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Valid CSCS card
