An ambitious and fast-growing London-based engineering contractor is seeking a Junior Project Manager with a strong electrical bias to join their project delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified professional who has progressed from an engineering, site management, or project coordination background and is now looking to step into a client-facing project management role. The business delivers high-quality electrical design-and-build solutions across commercial fit-out, refurbishment, landlord works, CAT A / CAT B fit-outs, infrastructure upgrades, and specialist electrical installations across London.
You will work closely with senior project leadership to support the full lifecycle delivery of multiple electrical packages, gaining exposure to pre-construction, commercial oversight, technical coordination, programme management, subcontractor management, and client liaison. This role offers genuine progression into full Project Manager status.
Key Responsibilities- Project Delivery Support
- Assist in managing multiple electrical projects from pre-construction through to handover
- Support project planning, sequencing, and delivery strategy
- Help ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to specification
- Monitor progress against project milestones
- Assist in identifying delivery risks and implementing mitigation strategies
- Technical Coordination
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
- Coordinate electrical design information between consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Assist with design development reviews and technical workshops
- Ensure installation works comply with relevant standards and project requirements
- Support value engineering exercises where appropriate
- Site & Contractor Management
- Coordinate subcontractor activities on site
- Attend site meetings and progress reviews
- Monitor quality of installation works
- Support inspection and snagging processes
- Assist with commissioning coordination and handover documentation
- Commercial & Financial Oversight
- Assist with procurement schedules
- Support package tracking and cost control
- Review subcontractor progress against applications/payment milestones
- Help manage variations and change control
- Monitor labour/material/resource allocation
- Client & Stakeholder Liaison
- Attend client meetings alongside senior PMs
- Produce project updates and progress reports
- Support communication across all project stakeholders
- Build strong working relationships with consultants, clients, and delivery teams
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with BS7671, Building Regulations, Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and Company QA procedures
- Maintain project records including RFIs, Technical submissions, Progress reports, O&M documentation, and Commissioning records
- Electrical bias/background (qualified electrician, electrical engineer, or building services background)
- 2-5 years experience within electrical contracting, building services, M&E subcontracting, and commercial fit-out delivery
- Experience supporting project delivery on live construction projects
- Strong understanding of electrical systems including LV distribution, Lighting, Power, Containment, Emergency lighting, and Controls
- Strong communication skills
- Commercial awareness
- Excellent organisational ability
- Ability to work across multiple fast-paced projects
