We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team for a £24m distribution centre project in Norwich. You will support the Senior QS in managing the commercial aspects of this high-profile project and gain experience across the full project lifecycle.
Our client is a Tier One construction delivery partner working with major developers, occupiers, retailers, and logistics businesses. They specialise in projects from concept to completion, including new-builds, fit-outs, expansions, renovations, and reconfigurations, primarily within industrial, logistics, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, data centres, and ports, with occasional exposure to commercial, retail, hotels, and education projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with commercial management and reporting across the project lifecycle
- Support in subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payment processes
- Maintain accurate site records and documentation
- Prepare cost projections for labour, plant, materials, and resources
- Assist with forecasting and reporting alongside the QS team
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and capture design changes
- Support Senior QS in stakeholder meetings and project coordination
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelors Degree, HND, or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Some experience or placement exposure in construction projects, ideally industrial or commercial
- Good numerical, technical, and reporting skills
- Strong communication and organisation abilities
- Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment
