What you’ll do

  • Provide first-line technical support to staff, addressing hardware and software issues promptly and effectively.
  • Diagnose and resolve a variety of IT-related problems, including network connectivity, printer malfunctions, and software errors.
  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, ensuring all equipment is operational and up to date.
  • Monitor IT systems and networks for performance issues, implementing proactive measures to prevent downtime.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for improving IT processes and enhancing user experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions in the ticketing system, ensuring timely follow-up and closure.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on new technologies and software applications, promoting best practices in IT usage.
  • Support the implementation of IT projects by providing technical expertise and assistance during the rollout phase.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding data security and IT governance.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss ongoing issues, share knowledge, and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations within the IT infrastructure.
  • Assist in the management of IT inventory, including hardware and software licenses, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an IT support role, preferably in a corporate environment, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as common software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
  • A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies and processes.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and services, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices in IT service management.
  • Previous experience in a construction or safety-related industry is advantageous.

  • Proficient in using ticketing systems for tracking support requests and resolutions.
  • Familiarity with remote support tools and software for assisting users off-site.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other productivity tools.
  • Basic understanding of database management and data backup solutions.
