Job Type: Permanent, Full Time (9am-6pm)

Extension Architecture are looking for a knowledgeable, qualified and driven ARB Architect to join their team in London! The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering residential architecture projects, including new-build developments, extensions, loft conversions, and refurbishments. The role requires a strong understanding of UK planning policies, building regulations, and project coordination, with the ability to lead projects from feasibility and concept design through planning approval and technical development.

Extension Architecture is one of the leading Architecture & Planning Consultant practices in London. They are a small group of designers and thinkers who specialise in house extensions, planning applications, building regulation drawings, loft conversions and project management.

Job Description:

  • Lead and manage residential architecture projects through RIBA Stages 0–3 and support subsequent project stages where required.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, Lawful Development Certificates, and related planning documentation.
  • Manage and support a team of 6 designers, ensuring design quality, technical accuracy, and timely project delivery.
  • Identify design opportunities that enhance project value, functionality, and sustainability.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

The Successful Candidate Should Have / Be:

  • ARB Registered Architect.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of post-qualification experience within a UK architectural practice.
  • Strong residential architectural experience, new build projects, extensions, loft conversions and refurbishments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit; BIM experience is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK planning legislation, permitted development rights, and building regulations.
