Building Ventilation Solutions Ltd is a fast-growing, family-run HVAC engineering company specialising in air handling unit (AHU) refurbishment, ventilation upgrades, controls work, and bespoke AHU manufacture across the UK.
We work across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education, leisure, retail, commercial, and industrial environments.
Due to continued growth, we're looking to recruit two engineers to join our expanding team.
Whether you're just starting your engineering career or already have experience working independently on HVAC and ventilation systems, we'd like to hear from you.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role working both on customer sites and, where required, from our office in Fordingbridge.
Depending on your experience, you'll either work alongside experienced engineers as part of your training or take responsibility for leading site visits and technical work independently.

Key Responsibilities
- Attend customer sites to inspect, diagnose and identify system issues.
- Carry out or assist with AHU refurbishments, fan retrofits and ventilation system upgrades.
- Assist with or undertake removal, installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical components.
- Assist with or carry out unwiring of existing AHU components and installation of new motors, controls and isolators.
- Produce clear, accurate and professional site reports.
- Support project planning, material selection and ordering.
- Safely use hand and power tools while following company procedures and site safety requirements.
- Maintain clean, safe and organised working areas.
- Build positive relationships with customers, contractors and colleagues.
- Travel to customer sites across the UK, with occasional overnight stays.
About You
We're looking for practical, motivated people who enjoy solving problems and working with their hands.
You may be an experienced engineer or someone looking to develop a long-term career within the HVAC industry.
- Full UK driving licence.
- In a commutable distance to Fordingbridge SP6.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Practical, hands‑on approach with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Good understanding of electrical systems and safe working practices.
- Good numerical, analytical and communication skills.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Reliable, organised and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physically capable of carrying out engineering work, including climbing ladders, working in plant rooms and lifting equipment.
We'd particularly like to hear from applicants with
- Experience working independently on customer sites.
- Ability to diagnose faults and identify practical engineering solutions.
- Experience reading technical drawings and wiring schematics.
- Engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working on air handling units or ventilation systems.
