We are seeking an experienced and proactive Building Services Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 construction contractor based on a project in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will support the delivery of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) packages from pre‑construction through to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract with potential for extension depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage M&E subcontractors across multiple live projects
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and design information
  • Support project teams through procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover phases
  • Monitor progress against programme and report on key milestones
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Attend and lead coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and client teams
  • Identify and resolve technical and operational issues on site
  • Assist with value engineering and buildability reviews
  • Ensure all commissioning documentation and O&M manuals are completed accurately
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Previous experience working with a main contractor or major M&E subcontractor
  • Proven experience delivering building services packages on large‑scale construction projects
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of current UK building regulations and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to projects nationwide
