We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Young Persons Support Worker to join our Supported Housing Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people and supporting them to achieve independence, stability, and their personal goals.

Working within a supported accommodation setting, you will build positive and trusting relationships with young people, providing tailored support that helps them develop confidence, life skills, and the tools needed to move towards independent living. You will take a person-centred and strengths-based approach, supporting individuals to recognise their abilities, overcome barriers, and create positive change.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Young People: Build professional, respectful, and trusting relationships with young people, creating a safe and welcoming environment. Work alongside individuals to understand their aspirations, strengths, goals, and support needs. Provide tailored one-to-one support through effective support planning and regular reviews. Help young people develop independent living skills, including budgeting, managing a tenancy, maintaining a home, and building positive relationships. Support young people to access education, training, employment, volunteering, and community opportunities. Encourage personal development, confidence, resilience, and positive decision-making.
  • Housing Tenancy Support: Support the day-to-day running of supported accommodation, ensuring a safe and positive environment for all residents. Assist with new move-ins, including preparing rooms, completing paperwork, and helping young people settle into their accommodation. Support residents to understand tenancy/licence agreements, responsibilities, and expectations. Monitor tenancy sustainment, support rent account management, and help reduce risks of tenancy breakdown. Work with housing partners and external agencies to support successful move-on into independent accommodation.
  • Engagement Community Building: Create a positive community atmosphere where young people feel valued, respected, and included. Challenge anti-social, discriminatory, or harmful behaviours appropriately to maintain a safe environment. Plan and deliver workshops, activities, and group sessions that support wellbeing, skills development, and personal goals. Encourage young people to engage positively within their local communities.
  • Partnership Working Safeguarding: Work collaboratively with colleagues, housing providers, local authorities, and external support agencies. Represent the service professionally at meetings, referrals, and partnership discussions. Identify safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate procedures to protect young people and vulnerable adults. Maintain accurate records, support plans, risk assessments, and case notes in line with confidentiality and GDPR requirements.
