This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who may be experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges or other barriers to independent living.

Working 14.8 hours across Saturdays and Sundays, you will help provide a safe, supportive environment where young people can develop essential life skills, maintain their accommodation and work towards a more independent future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and record changes in residents' behaviour, circumstances and support needs.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, safeguarding concerns and incidents, referring to relevant services where necessary.
  • Carry out room and building checks, report repairs and maintain health and safety standards.
  • Support residents with rent responsibilities and arrears management.
  • Help maintain clean, safe communal areas and prepare vacant rooms for new residents.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow organisational policies and safeguarding procedures.

About You

We are looking for someone who is approachable, patient and committed to helping young people overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working with young people or within supported housing, homelessness services or a related support role. Voluntary experience is also welcome.
  • An understanding of issues affecting young people, including homelessness, mental health, substance misuse and safeguarding.
  • Knowledge of housing, tenancy sustainment and welfare benefits.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and record-keeping skills.
  • The ability to work independently, use initiative and remain calm under pressure.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding.
  • A Level 3 qualification in youth work, health and social care or a related subject, or a willingness to work towards one.

Desirable experience:

  • Mental Health First Aid or safeguarding training.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted regulations relating to supported accommodation.

Why Apply?

  • Meaningful work: Make a positive difference to the lives of young people.
  • Weekend working: A part-time opportunity working Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Career development: Gain valuable experience in supported housing and opportunities to develop your skills.
  • Potential for permanency: The initial 12-week temporary contract may lead to a permanent weekend position.
