We’re looking for a commercially driven Sales Representative to help grow Insulation Wholesale by managing inbound enquiries effectively while actively generating new business through outbound sales activity. This is not a passive customer service role, and it is not suited to someone who wants to sit behind emails all day. We need someone who is confident on the phone, commercially aware, numerically capable, and motivated by ownership and performance. The right person will take responsibility for enquiries from first contact through to outcome while proactively identifying opportunities, reactivating old customers, and helping drive store revenue. You will initially work closely with the Head of Store, with the goal of becoming fully independent and trusted to confidently manage the day-to-day sales operation.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Inbound Sales
- Responding to enquiries via phone, email, and live chat
- Preparing quotes accurately and efficiently
- Calculating insulation quantities from customer measurements
- Managing margins and pricing correctly
- Following up quotations proactively and consistently
- Handling pricing objections confidently
- Resolving customer issues directly and professionally
- Taking ownership of enquiries through to outcome.
- Contacting dormant and lapsed customer accounts
- Re-engaging customers who have stopped buying
- Cross-selling insulation products to customers from our other stores
- Making outbound cold and warm calls to generate new business
- Speaking with suppliers regarding availability, lead times, and orders.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous outbound sales experience
- Confidence in making calls without being prompted
- Strong communication skills over the phone
- Good numerical ability and commercial awareness
- Confidence in discussing pricing and margins
- Strong work ethic and personal accountability
- Comfortable handling difficult customer conversations
- Self-motivated and proactive by nature
- Able to follow up persistently and professionally.
You do not need previous insulation or building materials experience to succeed in this role. We can train the right person on products, suppliers, pricing processes, quoting procedures, delivery scheduling, and our internal systems. What matters most is attitude, commercial instinct, confidence on the phone, and a willingness to take ownership and actively contribute to business growth.
This Role Is Not For You If:
- You prefer email communication over picking up the phone
- You avoid outbound calling
- You wait for customers to chase you
- You struggle with numbers, percentages, or calculations
- You are uncomfortable discussing pricing or negotiating
- You avoid difficult conversations with customers
- You need constant supervision to stay productive
- You are not naturally proactive with follow-up
- You are uncomfortable being accountable for commercial performance.
What We Offer:
- £35,000 salary
- 28 days holiday, including bank holidays
- Extra day off on your birthday
- Company pension
- Free on-site parking
- Structured onboarding and training
- Monday to Friday working - no weekends
- A direct, down-to-earth team within a fast-growing business.
