Course Details:
Street Works essentially is an award for operative and supervisor roles working to repair or improve roads and highways. The work involves the installation, renewal, maintenance and inspection of underground apparatus including lighting. Successful completion will lead to possession of a valid Street Works card and registration on the official register.
Our range of construction courses are designed to give you the essential training and qualifications you need, along with employability and digital skills and support into employment. Learners will also be equipped with Building Heroes branded workwear.
On successful completion of this course you will gain skills equivalent to a Level 2, and achieve a Streetworks Operative Award, Health & Safety, CSCS Card, and registration on the Street Works register.
You will learn:
- Workplace health and safety and productive work practices
- Location and Avoidance of Underground Apparatus
- Signing, Lighting and Guarding
- Excavation in the Road/Highway
- Reinstatement and Compaction of Backfill Materials
- Reinstatement of Sub-base and Roadbase in Non-Bituminous Materials
- Reinstatement of Cold-lay Bituminous Materials
- Reinstatement of Hot-lay Bituminous Materials
- Reinstatement of Concrete Slabs
- Reinstatement of Modular Surfaces and Concrete Footways
Course Length: 4 consecutive weeks. Includes a blend of classroom, workshop activity and site experience.
