Building Finishing Services UK Ltd (BFS) is a growing multi-trade repairs and maintenance contractor operating across Edinburgh and the Central Belt. Due to continued growth, increased workload, and new contract wins, we are looking for an experienced Electrician to join our expanding electrical division. This is a long-term permanent opportunity offering stable local work, overtime opportunities, and genuine career progression within a busy and supportive team environment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of electrical works within domestic and commercial properties, primarily across social housing and reactive maintenance contracts. Typical works will include:

  • Responsive electrical repairs
  • Fault finding and diagnostics
  • EICRs and remedial works
  • Consumer unit replacements
  • Minor installation works
  • Void property upgrades and repairs
  • Planned maintenance works
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Accurately completing job notes and documentation using handheld systems

The role involves working independently as well as alongside other trades and operational teams to deliver a high standard of service to our clients and tenants.

Essential Requirements

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Previous experience in domestic/reactive maintenance
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Good communication and customer service skills

Desirable

  • 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification
  • Experience within social housing or repairs & maintenance
  • ECS/CSCS Card
  • Experience using handheld/job management systems
  • Multi-trade experience beneficial but not essential
