We are seeking a qualified Design Manager / Project Manager to join our London studio and support the delivery of prestigious healthcare projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile, complex healthcare design environments where quality, commercial discipline and structured project delivery are paramount.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in a design or construction focused environment who is looking to further develop their capabilities in commercial management, contract administration, project controls and structured project delivery. You will work closely with our Design Managers and multidisciplinary design teams, supporting project delivery, performance monitoring and coordination activities within our London studio.

Overview of Responsibilities:
- Support core commercial reporting activities, including fee draw-downs, invoicing, and monitoring sub-consultant fees and expenditure, ensuring all financial information is accurate and aligned with project and contract requirements.
- Assist with workload planning and financial forecasting, preparing documentation that supports accurate commercial projections and performance monitoring.
- Support senior Design Managers in preparing programmes of work, scopes of service and Deliverables Schedules, coordinating with internal teams and Project Coordinators.
- Liaise with design consultants and client representatives during project meetings to track progress and ensure commercial impacts and scope changes are communicated clearly.
- Maintain accurate, auditable records of project change, supporting change-control processes and validating commercial implications.
- Track project performance, progress and risks, providing commercially relevant insights to support decision-making.
- Contribute to broader project and business activities, ensuring value for money and the efficient use of time and resources.
About you:
- Experience in a design, construction, engineering or project-based environment.
- Strong interest in commercial management, with exposure to cost tracking, invoicing, project finances or fee-related processes.
- Apm-qualified (or equivalent) or actively working towards a recognised project management accreditation.
- NEC contract experience highly advantageous.
- Proficient in MS Excel, with good general IT skills.
- Numerate, organised and detail-focused, with enthusiasm and a proactive approach to learning.
- Effective communicator, confident working collaboratively across multiple disciplines.
- Understanding of design processes, the construction industry or the RIBA Plan of Work is beneficial.
- Enjoys working to deadlines and managing multiple priorities in a structured manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Programming skills (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar) are advantageous.
