This role involves recruiting an Experienced Transport Planner to join a newly established Transport Planning team based in Manchester, working predominantly across the Northwest and supporting projects across the UK and international offices. The position requires experience in development-related transport planning projects, including masterplan and site appraisals, junction modelling, transport assessments, and travel planning work.
The successful candidate will build relationships with internal and external clients to secure work, collaborating closely with the Associate Transport Planner to develop the transport planning team. The Manchester civil engineering team works collaboratively on high-profile projects with architects, engineers, and designers across the Northern Region, providing civil engineering designs associated with building developments and public realm projects.

About you
- Proven experience in a Transport Planning consultancy.
- A minimum of 8 years relevant post-graduate experience.
- Good knowledge of transport planning policy, principles, and standards.
- Ideally working towards becoming a Chartered Transport Planning Professional/Chartered Engineer.
- Strong practical knowledge of Linsig, Junctions 9, and preferably experience using TRACC/similar.
- Strong understanding of relevant local and national policy and guidance.

- Highly motivated and passionate about delivering projects to time, budget, and quality.
- Organised and methodical with attention to detail.
- Able to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines under pressure.
- Possess strong problem-solving techniques.
