About the role
We are seeking to appoint a part time (3 days) Risk and Audit Assistant to support the Group Head of Risk & Audit in executing the day-to-day duties of the function. Your key duties will include:
Internal Audit
- Assist in designing of annual internal Audit Programme of Work.
- Plan and execute internal audits according to internal audit procedures and CIIA / IPPF standards.
- Review and assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
- Review controls for compliance with established internal policies, procedures, and relevant regulation and legislation.
- Identify and assess of risk areas and control weaknesses.
- Perform audit testing to ensure activity under review is compliant with internal policies / procedures and evaluate the nature and potential impact on detected non-compliance.
- Formulate appropriate recommendations to the activity under review. Review and agree findings with control operators.
- Assist in writing quality, accurate reports highlighting key findings, conclusions and provide recommendations for timely review with the relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare quality working papers for review by Group Head of Risk & Audit.
- Assist in maintaining and following up on the open management action log.
- In line with BDP’s ISO accreditations, assist the Group Head of Risk & Audit in maintaining the corporate and strategic risk management framework and Group risk register.
J-SOX Compliance
- Assist in documenting and testing internal controls over IT and financial reporting, to complete regulatory reporting on the internal control framework, control implementation, control deficiencies and their remediation, to ensure that all J-SOX deliverables and deadlines are met.
Additional Duties
- Assist the Group Head of Risk & Audit in document preparation to support internal governance committee and reporting.
- Assist with any as hoc projects as required by the Risk & Audit management.
- Experience in financial controls and management accounting.
- Knowledge of cyber risk, management and reduction.
- Knowledge in Occupational Health & Safety controls.
- Knowledge of ISO modules such as ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO50001.
- Working experience and knowledge of IT systems, software, networks, and IT concepts sufficient to be able to conduct internal control reviews and internal audits.

About you
- Candidate should possess a recognised internal audit or accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, CIA)
- Proactive individual with strong organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
- Deadline driven, flexible attitude to be able to manage competing priorities. This is a dynamic and global business, and the successful candidate will need to be flexible with a can-do attitude.
- Responsive to ad hoc tasks and ready to react promptly to information requests from across the business.
- Ability to motivate, manage, plan and deliver own work, ensuring that changing short, medium and long-term demands and deadlines are met.
- Strong communication skills are essential – both written and verbal.
