The Role
- Assisting in the commercial management of new build housing developments from procurement through to final account
- Supporting the preparation of subcontractor packages, enquiries, and orders
- Assisting with subcontractor valuations, payments, and final accounts
- Monitoring project costs and assisting with cost reporting and CVRs
- Managing variations and maintaining accurate commercial records
- Supporting procurement activities and supplier negotiations
- Working closely with Site Managers, Buyers, and the wider commercial team
- Assisting with forecasting and budget management
- Building strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Ensuring commercial procedures are followed throughout the project lifecycle
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within housebuilding or residential construction
- Alternatively, experience with a Main Contractor looking to move into the housebuilding sector will also be considered
- Good commercial awareness and a willingness to develop within a supportive team
- Knowledge of subcontract procurement and cost management
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive attitude with strong attention to detail
- Degree qualified or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Full UK Driving Licence
