Salary/Package - £65,000 - £75,000 + Package
About the Company
Our client is an established specialist contractor operating across the construction sector, with expertise in dry lining, fire protection, and associated internal building packages.
The business has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality specialist packages across major construction projects and continues to grow through a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work. Due to continued expansion, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Liverpool.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of dry lining and fire protection packages, working closely with project teams, clients, main contractors, and the supply chain.
- Taking commercial responsibility for allocated projects and packages
- Managing CVRs, forecasts, cost control, and financial reporting
- Managing subcontract procurement and subcontractor accounts
- Preparing and agreeing valuations, applications for payment, variations, and final accounts
- Reviewing contracts and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Managing change, variations, and additional works throughout projects
- Working closely with Contracts Managers, Project Managers, and site teams
- Liaising with clients and main contractors on commercial matters
- Managing cash flow and ensuring applications and payments are progressed
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting to senior management
- Supporting junior members of the commercial team where required
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with commercial targets
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction
- Strong experience within dry lining, fire protection, or specialist subcontracting
- Experience managing significant construction packages
- Strong knowledge of CVRs, forecasting, cost control, valuations, and final accounts
- Experience with subcontract procurement and account management
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good Microsoft Excel and general IT skills
- Relevant Quantity Surveying or construction qualification
