Construction Director in Warrington

A well-established and growing residential contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Director to lead its construction operations across a strong pipeline of residential developments. The business specialises in new-build residential developments, delivering schemes for Registered Providers, private clients and development partners across the region. This is a senior leadership position, responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of multiple projects and providing direction to the wider construction team. You will work closely with the senior management and commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality and programme standards. You will also have an important role in the continued development of the construction function, including improving processes, developing the operational team and ensuring the business has the structure and resource required to support its future workload. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the residential sector. You will currently be operating at a similar level, with proven experience managing multiple projects and leading operational teams. This would suit an experienced construction professional who is comfortable working at a senior level while remaining closely involved with project delivery and the wider operational performance of the business. Key responsibilities include: Providing strategic and operational leadership across the construction portfolio Overseeing multiple new-build residential developments from pre-construction through to completion Managing and supporting Contracts Managers, Project Managers and Site teams Monitoring programme, quality, health & safety and overall project performance Working closely with the commercial, design and pre-construction teams Supporting project teams with operational and delivery challenges Developing and maintaining construction processes and standards Reviewing resource requirements across the portfolio Developing the operational team and supporting succession planning Reporting on project performance and key operational issues to the senior leadership team Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and development partnersAbout you Proven experience as a Construction Director or senior construction leader within the new build residential sector Strong track record of leading multi-site residential construction programmes from pre-construction through to delivery A proven ability to develop and shape a construction function, building the team, processes and structure needed to support growth Experience of developing and improving construction processes, systems and delivery models Resilient and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage challenges while maintaining focus on longer-term objectives Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to build effective teams Strong commercial awareness, A collaborative leader who works closely with Technical, Commercial and Pre- Construction teams to drive projects forward Building Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
