This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing design & build contractor specialising in high-quality CAT A & CAT B commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects. The business has built a strong reputation for delivering complex, fast-paced schemes across the North West, with a focus on quality, collaboration, and repeat client relationships.
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to take a lead role in pricing and securing CAT A & B fit-out projects. Based in Stockport, you will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive tenders from initial enquiry through to submission, working closely with senior leadership, commercial teams, and delivery teams to support continued business growth.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for CAT A & CAT B fit-out and refurbishment projects
- Managing the full tender process from initial enquiry through to submission
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and employer's requirements to assess scope and risk
- Producing detailed take-offs and building up accurate rates from first principles where required
- Obtaining and assessing subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Preparing tender analysis and supporting commercial recommendations
- Attending pre-tender and client meetings as required
- Supporting value engineering and alternative design proposals
- Working closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure smooth handover post-award
- Contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems
What you will need to succeed:
- Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within commercial fit-out or refurbishment
- Strong experience delivering CAT A & CAT B projects
- Background in a design & build environment (essential)
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and buildability
- Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
