Role Overview:
We are recruiting for a Solar PV Technical Manager to take ownership of technical delivery across solar PV and battery storage projects nationwide. This senior-level position will involve overseeing installation teams, ensuring technical compliance, and acting as the MCS Nominated Technical Person (NTP). The ideal candidate will be a qualified electrician with hands-on PV experience and a strong track record in team and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage Solar PV and battery installations from survey through to commissioning
- Supervise direct labour and subcontractors, ensuring all works meet MCS and H&S standards
- Act as the main technical point of contact for clients throughout project delivery
- Coordinate delivery schedules and manage material procurement with suppliers
- Attend site during key phases to carry out inspections and final sign-off
- Compile and issue handover documentation and commissioning reports
- Ensure ongoing compliance with MCS regulations and manage DNO applications
- Represent the business as the MCS Nominated Technical Person
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent), AM2, and 18th Edition
- Valid Testing & Inspection qualification (C&G 2391 or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the electrical sector
- At least 2 years' experience delivering domestic Solar PV installations
- Knowledge of battery storage systems and DNO/grid compliance
- Demonstrable project and team leadership skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Level 3 in Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) or equivalent qualification
