Due to continued workload and business requirements, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to take a leading role in managing project finances, overseeing commercial operations and supporting the successful delivery of construction projects.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step into a broader commercial management position, or an established Commercial Manager seeking a new challenge.
Based in Macclesfield, you will take responsibility for the commercial performance of construction projects, providing strategic and operational support across procurement, cost control, contractual management, financial reporting and final accounts.
Working closely with operational teams and senior management, you will help protect project margins, identify commercial opportunities, manage risk and ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management
- Lead the commercial management of construction projects from procurement through to final account.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and financial performance.
- Produce accurate cost reports and commercial forecasts for senior management.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing strategies to protect profitability.
- Oversee variations, change control and contractual claims where applicable.
- Ensure commercial procedures and contractual obligations are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
Procurement and Subcontract Management
- Lead subcontractor procurement, tender reviews and package negotiations.
- Review and negotiate subcontract terms, ensuring commercial risks are appropriately managed.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and manage commercial issues as they arise.
