We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team and lead the estimation process for a variety of general contracting projects. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for providing accurate, competitive, and commercially sound estimates, supporting the pre-construction team, and contributing to successful project wins.
As Senior Estimator - General Contracting, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial, industrial, and educational projects
- Analysing tender documents, drawings, and specifications to produce competitive bids
- Managing subcontractor enquiries, quotations, and supplier pricing
- Collaborating with the design and commercial teams to assess risk and value engineering opportunities
- Presenting and explaining estimates to clients and internal stakeholders
- Continuously reviewing and improving estimation processes and tools
The successful Senior Estimator will have:
- Significant experience in general contracting, preferably within commercial, industrial, or education sectors
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
- Proven experience preparing detailed tenders and estimates
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A proactive and organised approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Relevant professional qualifications (MRICS or equivalent) desirable but not essential
